The firm of Ankeles, Bonfanti, Vontzalides & Ambeliotis, LLP finds its roots in 1936 when Abraham Ankeles graduated Magna Cum Laude from Suffolk University Law School. He passed the bar that year and immediately became active as a lawyer and respected politician in the City of Peabody.
In 1958, he was joined in practice by his brother Harry, a veteran of the War, and then by Marshall Harmon in 1964. Abraham was appointed to the bench in 1961 and the firm, which was then known as Ankeles and Ankeles, continued with Harry and Marshall. In 1970, Abraham’s son, David Ankeles, joined the firm and Leonard Bonfanti joined in 1974. The firm then became known as Ankeles, Harmon and Bonfanti. In 1984, Athan Vontzalides became associated with the firm. Athan and his cousin, Nicholas Vontzalides, became partners in the firm in 1999. Nicholas Ambeliotis joined the firm as a partner in 2000. William F. Delaney joined the firm in 2006.
Over the years, the firm has developed a practice which revolves around the many areas of law involving real estate, probate matters, and estate planning. The firm now includes six attorneys handling real estate matters, conveyancing, hazardous waste matters, probate issues, elder law, zoning and development matters, and family law.
